Electrical Installation Technician Ii

We are looking to hire a skilled Electrical Installation Technician II, living in the DFW, Texas area to add to our growing team! This position requires strong hands-on electrical experience in conveyor systems within material handling. NPI is a well-established company, with an amazing team of electrical and mechanical installers. This position requires heavy travel!

Experience Requirements

  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as sorting systems, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment; connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as motors, scanners, readers, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and determine malfunction.
  • Ability to terminate power cabinet with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in the facility
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment installation specifications.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Codes (NEC)
  • History in the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) industry.
  • Responsible for quality assurance aspects relative to the job/task performed
  • Adheres to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, ARC Flash understanding and awareness, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow all safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel up to 90% - with company paying flight, hotel and per diem
  • 5+ years of electrical installation knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience using both hand tools and power tools is required.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand NPI systems
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end users
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Exceptional customer service while working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Competent in basic computer functionality
  • Ability to manage time, self-motivate and work independently
  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work minimum of 10-hour shifts
    • Ability to lift, push, bend, and unload sorter modules and equipment
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
