The Human Resources Business Partner is to support our Craft team in driving a culture rooted in engagement, inclusion, and shared values across a growing and dynamic workforce. This role focuses on assisting with employee experience initiatives, coordinating routine HR processes, and responding to general employee inquiries with accuracy and professionalism. The Human Resources Business Partner will help ensure consistency in HR practices and serve as a reliable point of contact for field and office staff, contributing to an engaged and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify when employee relations issues—such as disputes, conduct, or performance concerns—may require HR intervention; assist with gathering initial information and escalate appropriately.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to field leadership on writing effective coaching documentation and ensure proper submission of separation requests in alignment with company policies.
  • Support and train field leadership on how to conduct quality performance evaluations; track completion rates, follow up for missing items, and ensure evaluations are completed consistently and constructively.
  • Track and update employee drug screen submissions sent to third-party labs; communicate results to Safety and relevant field leadership teams in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Support the onboarding experience by helping coordinate the first 90 days of employment, providing field visibility, and communicating early engagement feedback to HR leadership.
  • Monitor team morale and identify trends or recurring workplace concerns, helping HR leadership stay ahead of potential issues related to culture or engagement.
  • Reinforce company values and policies through daily interactions with field teams and site leadership, modeling respectful and inclusive behavior.
  • Assist with basic training delivery, communications, and tracking; flag any learning gaps or development needs observed in the field.
  • Support the performance management process by helping leaders stay on track with evaluation timelines, use of tools, and basic performance documentation requirements.
  • Identify when FMLA, ADA, Fit for Duty, or Leave of Absence needs arise; assist with initiating paperwork or scheduling, and escalate to HR leadership for full-cycle management.
  • Stay informed of HR policies, changes, and procedures; serve as a communication bridge between jobsite employees and the People Experience team.
  • Support People Experience initiatives, such as training, recognition, wellness, etc. in various engagement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Full Office Suite
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is strongly preferred
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • At least 2 years of HR experience, preferably in construction
  • Comfortable with public speaking in small to medium sized groups
