Join us as our new Team Leader for our Wastewater and Biomass Treatment Plant.

We are expanding our organization following a very large expansion project that will redefine not only our wastewater treatment processes but also the way we work. As part of this dynamic growth, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to oversee operations at our treatment plant.

As a Team Leader you will be part of the department management team which consists of 3 team leader positions. You will be responsible for leading a team for 13 operators. This includes ensuring a safe and motivating work environment, fostering a collaborative culture, and setting the direction for continuous improvement and development.

Environmental Operation comprises of a main operation department (Wastewater and Biomass Treatment), a Process and Technology team and other site support functions.

The treatment plant handles wastewater and production-biomass from both Novonesis and Novo Nordisk on Site Kalundborg. We are part of Novonesis production organization covering the regional flow of all materials from raw material inventories through fermentation, recovery and granulation.

Environmental Operation employs approximately 70 people.

Environmental Operation operates a very large biological wastewater treatment plant. It includes anaerobic pretreatment and gas utilization, biological carbon and nitrogen removal and final polish before discharge to Kalundborg Municipality. The plant is currently being expanded to handle additional wastewater from Novo Nordisk. The expansion involves several new technologies including membrane bioreactors, new gas upgrade technology and tertiary treatment before discharge.

Novonesis 2030 company strategy includes ambitious sustainability goals. Environmental Operation will play an important role in meeting the goals. We need to re-think the way we treat wastewater and production-biomass to cut CO2 emissions and focus on water saving and resource recovery

To succeed you must have:

• Relevant experience as team leader for shift workers
• Work experience with LEAN and continuous improvements
• Good technical insight, overview, and a business understanding
• Experience with change management and transformational leadership
• An open-minded and result-oriented approach combined with excellent interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills and strong personal drive
• Ability to work independently and influence people by formal and informal leadership
• Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English
