Process Engineer

Interested in a career that matters? Do you want to play a key role in ensuring stable, high-quality, and sustainable production of biological solutions that make a real difference? Join our Process & Technology team in Bagsværd, where we are responsible for the final manufacturing steps of our products, including spray drying and granulation.

The team consists of around 14 process engineers, CAPEX specialists, and technicians. We work closely together with operators and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure stable operations, high product quality, and continuous optimization. Our daily work combines operational support, systematic problem solving, data analysis, and technology development, all contributing to robust and efficient production that supports Novonesis' purpose of creating sustainable biosolutions with positive environmental impact.

The Role & Your Impact

As a Process Engineer, you will have a central role in securing stable operations and consistent product performance in our final manufacturing units. The role is primarily focused on execution and optimization, with strong ownership of product and process performance, while also contributing to CAPEX projects and future production setup.

You will:

  • Ensure stable and efficient operation of production units (spray drying and granulation) through daily operational support and systematic problem solving, securing safety, quality, and delivery targets
  • Drive process performance and optimization using data analysis to improve yield, reduce variation, and keep processes in control
  • Lead and support CAPEX projects, including design, implementation, and start-up of process equipment, ensuring long-term robustness and capacity
  • Own product performance for selected products by monitoring KPIs such as yield, off-spec, and variances, supporting new product introductions, and acting as the technical go-to person
  • Collaborate across functions and contribute to continuous improvement through operator support, Lean activities, and knowledge sharing

What You'll Need to Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • An MSc in Chemical, Biochemical, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
  • 2–5 years of experience from production or process engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of unit operations and experience with data analysis (e.g. Excel, JMP)
  • A systematic problem-solving mindset and the ability to translate data into practical improvements
  • Fluency in Danish and English

You are analytical, structured, and collaborative, and you take ownership of product and process performance. You thrive in a dynamic production environment and are motivated by driving sustainable improvements together with operators and stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

It is an advantage if you have experience with CAPEX projects, knowledge of GMP, and familiarity with Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

What We Offer

You will join a hands-on, solution-oriented team with a strong learning culture and close collaboration across operations, quality, maintenance, and CAPEX functions. The role offers exposure to both daily production support and project work, providing a solid foundation for professional growth.

The position also offers strong development potential into senior specialist or leadership roles, as Process Engineers are often key candidates for Associate Manager positions within Novonesis.

Ways of Working

The role is primarily office-based in Bagsværd, with the possibility of hybrid working. You will work closely with operators and technical colleagues in a production environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization. The role involves handling changing priorities and operational challenges as part of daily production support.

Application deadline: 1 May 2026.
