Process Engineer In Granulation

Are you passionate about challenging and developing processes at Novonesis?

We are looking for a Process Engineer in Granulation to join our Process & Technology team in Kalundborg, where you'll help optimize enzyme production and support our operators in daily operations.

The Role & Your Impact

As a Process Engineer in Process and Technology team in Kalundborg, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical, scientific and systematic problem solving skills, while gaining an insight into the granulation process, fluid bed coating, and workflow using LEAN.

You will be a part of a team consisting of 3 technicians, 4 process engineers and a project group, focusing on improving the capacity, quality, capability, and reducing variation in the granulation process to develop and produce the next generation of enzyme products. You will need to translate your technical knowledge into everyday real-life big scale production issues. The team collaborates closely with process operators and colleagues across Novonesis.

The Process and Technology team has the daily responsibility to support the process operators in the granulation/coating process. Your responsibility will further include:

• Leading and participating in process and production optimization projects
• Daily follow-up on process and product quality to ensure the right quality for our customers
• Using systematic problem-solving methods (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma tools, JMP) to identify and implement improvements

What You'll Need to Be Successful

• MSc in process technology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, food technology, mechanical engineering or similar
• Excellent Danish and English skills – spoken and written
• Insight into biotech process plants and unit operations and an interest in large-scale production
• You have the drive to solve practical challenges on the floor systematically

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

Experience with MS Office and solid general competencies within IT systems is expected. The role also requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with ease in engaging colleagues across different organizational levels and backgrounds. A systematic approach to delivering high‑quality results, combined with ambition and a strong sense of responsibility, is essential. Thriving in a fast‑paced environment is important, as is the capacity to adapt and remain agile when handling continuously shifting tasks and priorities. Experience from large‑scale production settings is considered an advantage, and familiarity with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies will further strengthen suitability for the position.
