We are looking for a passionate, curious, and enthusiastic person to be a vital part of our technical support to our customers worldwide. You will work in our brand new pilot dairy with production of milk and fermented dairy products, our bacterial cultures, ingredients, and innovative processes.

Welcome to Fresh Dairy - DK Tech

You will be part of the global Fresh Dairy department in Denmark, which is anchored in a larger Fresh Dairy Applied RD organization with teams in France, USA, and China. Our department is located in our brand new Innovation Campus in Hørsholm and has a global role, where we work closely together with business development, marketing, R&D, local application teams, sales, and our customers worldwide.

The department in Denmark consists of nearly 30 talented chemists and technicians, who are divided into two teams with different responsibilities – new product development and technical support – and work closely together. The technical support team supports Fresh Dairy customers around the globe with troubleshooting, new product formulation, optimization of existing products and production lines, and analysis of customer samples (probiotic cell count, texture, contaminants, etc.). The team also develops and produces dairy product prototypes that demonstrate how our Novonesis culture and enzyme solutions work. We work with customers – directly and in many cases also in close collaboration with our local Novonesis teams and application laboratories around the globe. In addition to the customer technical support tasks, we also have a role as sparring partners for production and business development around the quality of our cultures and enzyme solutions.

In this role, you will make a difference by:

Performing various dairy technical tasks in our pilot dairy facility and laboratory, primarily with the production of various fermented and non-fermented dairy products, and analyzing these, as well as handling milk in our weighing and preparation of milk bases for experiments. The tasks are typically arranged in collaboration with a chemist in the team.

Your job duties include, among others:

• Production of dairy products in pilot dairy and laboratory
• Planning, designing, and conducting analyses in the laboratory, e.g., microbiology, pH, texture, and chemical composition
• Collecting and reporting results
• Participating in sensory analysis/tasting of dairy products
• Participating in training of customers, colleagues, and students
• Being part of the implementation of new equipment
• Performing calibration of equipment
• Performing various tasks for maintenance and improvement of production facilities and laboratories
• Interacting actively with colleagues and sharing your views to influence and optimize our ways of working

You will be a good match for this role if you are:

• A dairy technician or food technician/technologist, dairy technician or have a similar education, preferably with experience in the production of dairy products
• You like to work in teams, have good collaboration skills, and have a focus on making things successful
• You are structured, quality-oriented, and good at planning
• You must be flexible, as tasks sometimes pop up with short notice
• You approach tasks critically
• You have practical knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• You are proficient in English, as much communication with colleagues and customers takes place in English
