BPA Manager - Small Molecules Operations (SMO)

Location: Barcelona, Spain

As part of our growing activities, we are looking for a BPA Manager - Small Molecules Operations (SMO) on a permanent contract for our headquarters in Barcelona. Join us as a BPA Manager and play a pivotal role in driving financial transparency, strategic reporting, and continuous improvement across the Small Molecules Operations (SMO) Platform. You'll be embedded in a diverse, cross-functional environment at Novartis TechOps, partnering with senior stakeholders, supporting production sites worldwide, and influencing decisions through insightful analysis and data-driven strategies. This role combines precision, innovation, and impact—leveraging digital tools and automation to optimize processes and elevate financial outcomes. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs and maintains systems for financial tracking and platform presentations, seeks for automation and digitalization on the Platform financial data.
  • Ensures consolidation and reporting of financial Platform KPI's in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, driving financial transparency and influencing decision-making across functions
  • Identifies financial risks and opportunities, proactively recommends mitigation strategies, and follow through to resolution
  • Performs financial analysis, cost analysis, and control to, proactively, drive performance and corrective actions as needed
  • Manage the full budget and latest forecast cycles for cost centers and service areas, ensuring accuracy and relevance
  • Is the Platform main finance partner for several production sites, across different geographies and product portfolio.
  • Is responsible for the Platform reporting of actuals, outlooks and targets
  • Supports on the preparation and consolidation of planning processes, guiding principles, and ensure timely, high-quality budget delivery, including risks & opportunities and scenario analysis.
  • Assist on the consolidation and reporting of monthly Latest Outlooks (LO), reporting of actuals and associated variance commentaries to Global Finance Technical Operations

What you'll bring to the role:

Essential criteria:

  • Degree in Business Administration or a similar diploma (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial controlling, planning & analysis, and reporting within a global organization
  • Manufacturing background
  • Digitally savvy, with familiarity in Power BI or similar data visualization tools, and an interest in using AI solutions like Copilot to enhance financial insights
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
