Automation Engineer

Want to work closely with production and help ensure the operation, troubleshooting, and further development of our machines? We are looking for a dedicated automation engineer who thrives in a practical and hands-on work environment and is eager to work with automation, programming, and machine modifications.

In this role, you will have a central position in daily operations, where you will work closely with electricians, technicians, and external partners to ensure stable, safe, and future-proof solutions.

Primary job duties

  • Assist our electricians with troubleshooting and problem-solving on machines and plants
  • Identify and propose alternative components when existing components are phased out
  • Perform minor programming tasks within PLC and HMI
  • Participate in major machine modification and retrofit projects in collaboration with external partners
  • Contribute to ongoing optimization of automation solutions and machine safety
  • Contribute to technical documentation and improvement initiatives

Qualifications and professional skills

  • Education as an automation engineer, electrical engineer, electrical technician, electrician, or a similar relevant technical background
  • Experience with Step 7 Manager
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal
  • Experience with WinCC and WinCC Flexible
  • Experience with Siemens drive systems (AC and DC)
  • Practical experience as an electrician
  • Strong understanding of automation components and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of applicable standards, including DS/EN 60204-1 and DS/HD 60364
  • Knowledge of E-Plan is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of the maintenance system PM5 is an advantage, but not a requirement
