Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Instrumentation Installations Lead Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
As an Instrumentation & Data Installation Lead you will lead early design and standup of workshop spaces and posture for large-scale build and installation activities for complex test data acquisition system architectures for Ground, Flight, and Lab Test across multiple sites. The selected individual must have the technical and soft skills to enable them to lead the Operations Engineers and Flight Test Technicians through all facets of the statement of work, from fabrication to installation. This position requires a broad skillset in the area of instrumentation, electrical harness assembly, mechanical assembly and installation, and sensor operations.
You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Industrial engineers to ensure efficient installation planning, processes, and material meets the readiness requirements to execute build operations on each test article. You will ensure installation processes and procedures are properly trained across the workforce and followed in compliance with engineering and process specifications. Additionally, you will continually monitor/inspect installations throughout the build sequence and report any issues. Upon discovery of deficiencies or inefficiencies, you will investigate root causes and initiate corrective actions to ensure consistent product quality.
Desire to work in a fast-paced work environment and excellent communication skills are essential. Candidate must have a willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment. 25% travel to support program activities and integration will be required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
