Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer for the System Test IPT. This position is located in Roy, UT.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space System team supporting the Air Force's Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program and be part of the System Test Team. This position will be located in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
  • Create electrical schematic drawings within Siemens Capital. Develop and create electrical harness interconnect drawings.
  • Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
  • Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component.
  • Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of verification.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and support formal verification of the system.
  • Product integration, regression, and verification testing including checkout in system test labs.
  • Short and long term integration planning and execution of multiple concurrent baselines. This includes integrating subsystem functionality into system capabilities per design with an emphasis on system stability and performance.
  • Participating in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of experience; or 0 years of work experience with a Master's Degree
  • Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; or 3 years of experience with a Master's Degree; or 1 Year of experience with a PhD.

Required Qualifications for both levels:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Knowledge of Electrical Principles
  • Experience in conducting analysis on electrical designs
  • Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point with knowledge of MS Project and Engineering Scheduling tools or applications.
  • Experience with electrical/power systems, cable/harness, circuit card, controls systems and/or electrical hardware design/analysis.
  • Knowledgeable of using the Mentor Graphics Capital/Xpedition tool or equivalents
  • Experience reviewing engineering specifications, schematics and/or drawings with the ability to translate customer driven requirements into specifications.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Software and/or Hardware testing experience
  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics, and Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of various data transmission formats (eg. Serial, TCP/IP, Fiber etc)
  • Experience using the following tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalents
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly to both Government and corporate leadership.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
