Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Engineer to provide on-site network support at Rocket Center, WV plus several remote sites to support the network infrastructure. A successful candidate will work with a team in supporting the LAN/WAN. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with experience in networking.
Role and Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support to clients, respond to their request promptly and resolve network issues.
- Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for the Networking discipline, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, interconnection.
- Plans, designs, configures, and installs network hardware in support of customer requirements.
- Creates and ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
- Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Occasionally travel to other NG sites as needed.
- Periodically provide after-hours and weekend support.
- Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.
Basic Qualifications for level 2:
- Must have a minimum of 2 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree OR 0 Years of experience with a relevant Masters Degree
- Must have the ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance
- Must have hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and setting up switched networks
- Proficient knowledge with Cisco routers and switches.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP related protocols, Dynamic Routing Protocols, Switching technologies and features
- Ability to successfully solve network related problems reported by users
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Skilled with Microsoft Office 365 applications and Visio.
- Ability to work onsite 100% of the time at the Rocket Center, WV location
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

- Must have a minimum of 5 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree OR 3 Years of experience with a relevant Masters Degree
- Must have the ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.) is nice to have.
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP certifications are preferred.
