Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Data Engineer to join the Data Modernisation team. This role is critical to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our new age exception management system, data ingestion and control logic infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in cloud-native data engineering and a strong understanding of financial data pipelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using Snowflake, Airflow, and Kafka to support real-time ingestion and processing of fund accounting data.
  • Develop and optimize backend services hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain alert logic and control execution frameworks, including rule-based triggers and severity-based alerting.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate control requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and ingestion timing analysis to meet SLA and audit requirements.
  • Participate in incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of data flow issues across environments.

Required skills and experience include:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, preferably in financial services or enterprise-scale platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, Snowpark, Apache Airflow, Kafka, SQL, and Scala.
  • Good to have experience working with Databricks, DBT, Java Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in Python and RESTful API development.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, especially AKS, Azure Functions, ADF, APIM, and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with GitHub CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Understanding of data quality, lineage, and governance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.
