Environmental Services/Housekeeping Associate

Sakakawea Medical Center is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented environmental services/housekeeping associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. The environmental service/housekeeping associate has daily contact with patients, residents, employees and the general public.

Requirements:

• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner exercising sound judgment and discretion.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial or housekeeping experience (preferably in a healthcare setting) is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities:

1. Performs cleaning and disinfecting of all areas according to department policy and procedures. This includes patient rooms, departments, clinic space, offices, restrooms, and all public areas.
2. Conducts floor maintenance according to policy and procedures. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
3. Checks, fills, orders, and puts away supplies according to department policy and procedure.
4. Responsible for proper use and cleaning of all equipment according to department policy and procedures.
5. Empty trash according to policy and procedure.
6. Follow all hospital policies and procedures including HIPAA and infection control standards.

Other Duties:

• May at times assist in other areas if needed including laundry and Senior Suites.
• Responsible for assisting in the orientation of new employees.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary is $15.00+ per hour, depending on experience. Additional shift differential for weekend shifts. Benefits are dependent on status.
