Environmental Services/Housekeeping Associate
Sakakawea Medical Center is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented environmental services/housekeeping associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. The environmental service/housekeeping associate has daily contact with patients, residents, employees and the general public.
Requirements:
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous janitorial or housekeeping experience (preferably in a healthcare setting) is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities:
- Performs cleaning and disinfecting of all areas according to department policy and procedures. This includes patient rooms, departments, clinic space, offices, restrooms, and all public areas.
- Conducts floor maintenance according to policy and procedures. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
- Checks, fills, orders, and puts away supplies according to department policy and procedure.
- Responsible for proper use and cleaning of all equipment according to department policy and procedures.
- Empty trash according to policy and procedure.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures including HIPAA and infection control standards.
Other Duties:
- May at times assist in other areas if needed including laundry and Senior Suites.
- Responsible for assisting in the orientation of new employees.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting salary is $15.00+ per hour, depending on experience. Additional shift differential for weekend shifts. Benefits are dependent on status.
