The Receptionist will report directly to the Service Desk Supervisor. Staff will be responsible for the successful delivery and development of the everyday operations of the service desk and support of the administrative department. The ability to establish and maintain a harmonious relationship with the other staff, general public, volunteers; but most importantly, the membership of this association is essential. Staff must obtain a thorough understanding of all YMCA policies and programs, and must be able to explain these policies and programs to new and potential members upon request.
Responsibilities: The Receptionist must demonstrate a personal commitment to the mission of the YMCA. Staff must set the example for others to follow. Good communication skills (written and verbal) are essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with people as part of a team. This position requires good organizational skills, strong human relation skills, good understanding of business procedures, ability to adapt to a changing environment, and knowledge of the YMCA operational procedures and programs. Staff members must be able to sell the programs and services of the YMCA, have a working knowledge of operating computers, dress professionally to fit the task, be friendly, and exhibit good health habits. The ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members and guests is essential.

Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time up to 8 hours per shift, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, time outdoors, sitting and desk work up to 8 hours per shift, working with chemicals.
