We are seeking an experienced Weld Engineer to facilitate the timely resolution of issues arising during the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will analyze current operations to improve productivity and reduce product costs, while also managing corporate design agreement changes. Responsibilities include facilitating timely resolution of problems and issues that arise during the manufacturing process, including non-conforming material analysis and equipment problems. The candidate will also analyze and critique current operations to improve productivity and lower product cost, utilizing time studies, workstation and plant layouts, and other resources. Additionally, they will perform corporate design agreement changes, analyze necessary changes, and coordinate material change implementation. The role involves interfacing with suppliers to resolve industrialization issues, reviewing and creating industrial documentation such as standard operating procedures and process/material flow diagrams, and providing technical support to manufacturing associates, other engineers, and management with expert knowledge of process tools and equipment.
Essential skills include proficiency in manufacturing engineering and welding, experience in process improvement and robotic welding, knowledge of process engineering and lean manufacturing, and expertise in fabrication and continuous improvement. Welding experience is required, not necessarily physically welding but working with welded products.
This is a contract to hire position based out of Wilmington, NC. The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $50.00/hr.
