Senior Product Operations Engineer

The Red Hat Portfolio Lifecycle Management (PLM) team is seeking a Senior Product Operations Engineer to focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). In this role, you'll apply your technical expertise and DevOps or development background to improve the customer experience throughout the product lifecycle. You'll partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to identify and prioritize customer-impacting issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure that product development is strongly influenced by real-world usage and customer feedback. What You Will Do

  • Use data to identify customer trends and guide the product roadmap.
  • Deliver a unified strategy across the Red Hat portfolio by amplifying customer feedback and promoting an improved product experience.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive, reusable self-service solutions for future incidents.
  • Deconstruct complex technical issues and collaborate with peers to create improvements that are simple for customers to adopt.
  • Exercise sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to solve problems.
  • Analyze upstream development in the context of current customer-reported product defects.
  • Develop and promote best practices to ensure sustainable, long-term solutions.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of experience as a support, sustaining, or development engineer—or in another directly related enterprise environment role.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Enterprise Linux (preferably RHEL) and related technologies.
  • Background in DevOps, System Administration, or a related discipline.
  • BS or higher in Computer Science or other technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize issues based on data trends and feedback.
  • Self-motivation and a collaborative mindset—always learning, improving, adapting, and contributing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Passion for technology and customers, with a commitment to delivering the best possible experience for Red Hat customers.
  • Track record of efficiently solving complex problems.

The following are considered a plus

  • Usage of data analysis tools like Tableau
  • Experience using Git and Github

The salary range for this position is $116,270.00 - $191,840.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
