Senior Data DevOps Engineer

And today, we're seeking a Senior Data DevOps Engineer with deep Azure expertise to join our Database as a Service (DBaaS) crew. You'll be at the heart of designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance data platform solutions, helping us enhance automation, deployment, and data reliability across cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build DevOps pipelines for data platforms, focusing on Azure environments
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of database services (SQL Server, Azure SQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and DBAs to deliver database automation and provisioning solutions
• Contribute to the design of scalable data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory
• Drive improvements in CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and data operations tooling (e.g., GitLab pipelines)
• Implement observability best practices to ensure data systems health, security, and performance

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Data Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
• Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services, including: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, SQL Server (on-prem/cloud), Cosmos DB or MongoDB
• Strong scripting and automation with Python (especially with FastAPI framework)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and DevOps best practices
• Deep understanding of security, scalability, and cost-efficiency in cloud-native architecture
• Be able to work a minimum of 3 days on site in Raleigh, NC or Weehawken, NJ

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for Azure infrastructure automation
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of other data pipeline tools such as Databricks or Apache Airflow
• Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect)
