NTS Solutions Architect / Sales Engineer Opportunity

As one of NTS's Solutions Architects / Sales Engineers, you will serve as a critical technical member of the NTS Growth and Sales organization bridging customer mission needs with NTS products, services, and solutions to drive revenue and customer success. In this customer-facing, pre-sales engineering role, you will partner closely with Sales to identify opportunities, qualify technical requirements, design differentiated solutions, and demonstrate NTS capabilities through presentations, technical workshops, demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept (PoC). You will proactively engage customers to understand operational environments, mission pain points, and future requirements, helping shape solution approaches and influence RFPs through early technical engagement. Acting as the primary technical resource throughout the sales lifecycle, you will lead solution design, technical demonstrations, and PoCs while supporting proposal development and customer adoption. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Delivery, Engineering, and Proposal teams, you will ensure NTS delivers cohesive, technically compelling, and customer-aligned solutions that increase probability of win (pWIN), accelerate deal velocity, and expand customer relationships.

Hiring Locations: Flexible within the U.S. near key customer sites, including but not limited to Tampa, FL; Fort Bragg, NC; Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), MD; Gainesville VA; Washington, DC; and other locations may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Technical Leadership - Serve as the primary technical resource for Sales during pre-sales activities, including customer meetings, technical discovery sessions, presentations, and solution demonstrations.

Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, define technical scope, and align customer requirements with NTS products and services.

Provide hands-on technical expertise throughout the sales lifecycle from initial customer engagement through solution delivery planning.

Solution Engineering and Design - Analyze customer requirements and operational CONOPS to design tailored, competitive, and compliant technical solutions.

Develop strength-based solutions and draft strength statements that articulate features, customer benefits, and proof points to drive high-pWIN proposals.

Lead technical solution strategy sessions, storyboard development, and theme formulation to ensure compelling and compliant responses.

Customer Engagement and Enablement - Build trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders by understanding their environments, workflows, and goals.

Deliver product demonstrations, technical workshops, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to showcase solution value and accelerate customer adoption.

Act as a technical advisor to customers, providing recommendations that maximize operational and business outcomes.

Demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) - Own and lead technical demonstrations and PoCs, including planning, execution, and customer feedback integration.

Perform research, testing, and development of demo environments using cutting-edge technologies to support sales pursuits.

Proposal and Documentation Support - Support proposal efforts through technical architecture development, diagrams, written content, and customer-oriented technical analysis.

Author technical documentation, customer presentations, and solution artifacts to support sales bids and capture activities.

Collaboration and Product Alignment - Work closely with Sales, Program Managers, Product Owners, Engineering, Marketing, and partners to stay current on NTS offerings, competitive solutions, and industry trends.

Partner with the Chief Product Officer and Product DevOps teams to refine sales playbooks, deliver technical training to Sales and PMs, and enable cross-product selling.

Sales Enablement and Training - Conduct technical training sessions for Sales to improve product knowledge, solution positioning, and competitive differentiation.

Support development of reusable demo assets, reference architectures, and sales engineering best practices.

Technical Problem Solving - Address customer and internal technical inquiries, troubleshoot solution challenges, and ensure a seamless pre-sales experience.

Requirements

Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Active Top Secret clearance highly desired; or the eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance required

Must have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S., as sponsorship is not available at this time

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities

5+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, solutions architecture, or related technical customer-facing roles.

Strong hands-on expertise in one or more of the following: cloud platforms, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise software, tactical/ISR video, or automation.

Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent presentation, communication, and customer engagement skills.

Experience supporting sales processes, RFPs, and CRM tools.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced sales environments.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Salesforce/CRM tools, graphics/publishing tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of technical experience supporting Military and/or Federal customers.

Direct experience with DoD Programs of Record (PEO IEWS, PEO EIS, SOCOM SOF ATandL).

Experience as a product SME, VAR technical advisor, or Sales Engineer.

Military or Federal IT certifications related to networking or systems engineering.

Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.).

Experience designing and selling technical solutions to government or enterprise customers.

Hands-on experience with scripting or automation tools.

Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Experience managing Windows Server and Linux environments.

Ability to lift/carry light items such as laptops or binders (=15 lbs).

Travel as required for disparate customers (CONUS primarily yet potentially OCONUS) - up to 50% travel can be expected.

Collaborative work environment, especially during pre-sales engineering and proposal efforts.
