Protective Services Officer

  2. Monitor behavioral health units and provide direct support to clinical staff in high-acuity environments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Healthcare Public Safety/Police, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: IAHSS Basic and/or Adv Training Certifications within 6 months of hire, required.
  • NCPPSB Armed Security Office Registration Permit within 12 months of hire, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.

Additional Skills (required):

  • BLS/CPR within 90 days of hire through employment.
  • Public contact experience.
  • Satisfactorily completes all required organizational and departmental basic, field, and in-service training courses as well as courses that support our Emergency Management efforts such as decontamination or hazardous materials awareness training.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Ability to accurately receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
  • Ability to translate observations and information into legible, complete, and accurate reports.
  • No criminal record. Maintains valid driver's license in the state of residence. Maintains compliance with the Novant Health Vehicle Use, Requirements & Guidelines Policy. Immediately notifies Director of Public Safety or Public Safety Manager of any and all charges relating to the operation of a motor vehicle and/or criminal complaint.

Additional Skills (preferred):

  • Security, law enforcement or military experience.
