The position is in the Veterans Administration (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Care Network (VISN 6), at the Charles George VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Community Care Service. The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) performs clerical/administrative work supporting the care and treatment of Veterans in Community Care Service.
Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interpreting and verifying provider orders in accordance with VHA national scheduling guidelines. Assignments at this level include, but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30p, Monday-Friday. Telework may be available following agency policy (Ad-hoc only). This is not a virtual position.

Requirements include being a U.S. Citizen, proficiency in written and spoken English, and subject to background/security investigation. Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
Qualifications include basic requirements such as United States Citizenship, English Language Proficiency, and experience or education equivalent to six months of clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work. In addition to meeting the basic requirements listed above, you must meet the grade requirements at the GS-6 level to qualify for this position.
Physical Requirements include mostly sedentary work with some light lifting up to 25lbs, bending, standing, stooping, walking. This position will require you to work in front of a computer screen for 90% of your day.
