Project Engineer (Generators)

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in the energy industry, focusing on hydropower units. This role involves the analysis of mechanical components, utilizing in-house tools and developing calculations as necessary. You will be responsible for creating documentation for proposals, technical reports, and customer O&M manuals, as well as reviewing and approving mechanical drawings to meet contractual and internal requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mechanical components using in-house tools and develop calculations as necessary.
  • Prepare documentation for proposals, technical reports, and customer O&M manuals.
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings to ensure they meet contractual and internal requirements.
  • Create engineering instructions that define technical requirements for manufacturing, installation, and testing.
  • Generate engineering documentation with support from designers and drafters.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in project engineering.
  • Knowledge of generators.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts with close attention to detail.
  • Manufacturing experience in welding, machining, and/or casting.
  • Site experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

Enjoy a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office, providing a long-term opportunity to work under professional engineers. The work environment includes continuous education courses for those interested in obtaining their PE. The role supports a team of 20 engineers within the local Charlotte group specializing in turbines/generators and power systems.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $62.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
