Maintenance Facilities Support Tech

Location: Morrisville, NC

Employment Type: Contract (6 months) Shift: 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) Pay Rate: $28/Hr.

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Facilities Support Tech is responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment to maintain and improve the proper, safe, and efficient functionality of production assets. This role will perform preventative, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on both production and facility equipment, supporting operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Utilize problem-solving tools to identify root causes of recurring breakdowns and develop corrective measures.
  • Create One Point Lessons and Job Aids for Line Operators regarding equipment setup and operation.
  • Participate in maintenance improvement projects, including scope definition, planning, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Support initiatives related to energy conservation, Continuous Improvement, SMED, and TPM.
  • Assist production maintenance and engineering with equipment installation, adjustments, fabrication, and modifications.
  • Improve the safety and efficiency of production equipment.
  • Specialize in resolving electrical and mechanical issues as they occur on production equipment.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance in equipment use and maintenance.
  • Maintain and organize maintenance areas, including tools and supplies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the BUL / Maintenance Manager.
  • Adhere to all GMP and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; technical certification or military training strongly preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a production/operations facility. Strong mechanical ability and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic). Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Basic knowledge of PLC logic, electrical problem solving, and metal fabrication. Knowledge of plumbing and water line repair. Proficiency in the use, care, and maintenance of tools and machinery. Ability to read and work from instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound decisions. Proficiency with generating/analyzing reports and KPIs, including math involving fractions and decimals. Must meet minimum required score on Work Keys tests. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
