This posting is for a part-time Human Resources Summer Intern located in the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG), which is a division of the NC Department of Public Safety (DPS). This internship is expected to start on May 18, 2026, and continue through July 24, 2026. The work schedule is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), Monday - Friday. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.
The North Carolina National Guard currently employs over 300 permanent and temporary employees but is expanding. The Human Resources Office will assist in creating additional positions and processing reclassifications due to restructure of the organization.
Specific responsibilities include:
Applicants are expected to have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; the ability to handle confidential matters with tact and discretion; the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely; the ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions within the area of responsibility; and possess the ability to learn and apply rules, procedures, and practices for various human resources management activities or personnel actions.
