HR Technician II (S)

Unleash your potential and join our team to make a significant impact! The primary purpose of the position is to independently serve as an ABC Recruiter. Position provides quality customer service to applicants and managers to facilitate recruitment and retention of qualified diverse applicants for the Department Position assigned and provides support to all sections (statewide) within ABC Commission. This position is responsible for:

  • Position Management, Job Postings, Position History file keeping, and employment reference checks.
  • Preparing hiring, and promotional HR paperwork and for pulling and reviewing equity reports with the Business Manager for determining salary.
  • Assisting with personnel actions (e.g. separations, promotions, leave of absence, reinstatements), payroll, time administration in Fiori and researching time entry errors.
  • Generating reports in Beacon/SAP (e.g., time reports, overtime reports, salary equity reports, and other general reports, etc.).
  • Responsible for knowing and processing FML, FIL, and Workers Compensation.
  • This position will assist in managing the NCVIP to ensure manager and supervisors complete all employee evaluation steps of the NCVIP by deadline.
  • Maintain employee work time entries.

Salary Range: $37,377.00 - $51,500.00

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance. The work schedule is 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

The Department of Public Safety uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.

The Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) is REQUIRED to qualify for this position. Management Preferences, including Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs), are not required but may be used to determine the pool of most qualified applicants. Managers may also choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.

All work history and education (including accurate dates of employment/attendance) must be documented on the application. Work experience may include internships, volunteerism, and full and part-time work. A complete, all-inclusive application maximizes an applicant's potential to qualify for the position, as well as receive the highest possible salary if selected for the position. Salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations for the advertised position.

Management Preferences:

  • Experience working with HR systems.
  • Experience working with HR policies for various human resources management programs.
  • Experience working with the NCVIP system.
  • Experience handling confidential matters.

Transcripts

Military Experience

  • Applicants seeking National Guard Preference: A current member of the North Carolina National Guard in good standing must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS). A former member of the North Carolina National Guard who served for at least 6 years and was discharged under honorable conditions must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
