The Home Life Support Assistant (HLSA) is a certified Nursing Assistant I who is assigned as part of the daily care coverage for the home. They are assigned to C-Shift in the GHM they are assigned. Besides serving in coverage the HLSA is responsible for assisting the Floor Shift Nurse Supervisor with basic daily operational needs of the Group Home. This position is responsible for placing orders for supplies necessary for resident care (those not ordered by Environmental Services). These items include resident grooming items (Soap, Shampoos, Toothpaste and Brushes, Combs/Hair Brushes and lotions) and ordering Bed Linen, Bath Towels and Wash cloths. This staff will take the lead on ensuring clothing needs of the residents are also ordered. The residents served are older adults who have complex medical and neurocognitive disorders and have significant developmental delays and intellectual deficits. Over half of residents served here are non-ambulatory. Most of the others have some need for ambulation or mobility support. This positions reports administratively and clinically to the Floor Shift Nurse Supervisor (FSNS). The HLSA develops a tentative monthly work schedule for the shift and sends to the FSNS for correction and approval. On a daily basis the HLSA will suggest necessary coverage changes to the FSNS as call ins occur. The HLSA will monitor the home to ensure daily safety and sanitation of the home is not compromised.

Employee will be required to successfully complete training through our Staff Development department which includes but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
Salary Grade: $32,444 - $48,665
Recruitment Range: $39,312 - $43,302
A Sign-on Bonus of $2,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 202-2026 Budget Approval.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
