This position is expected to be available on September 1, 2025. The position will serve as the Division Maintenance Operations Support Specialist, responsible for planning, compiling, and preparing contract documents for all resurfacing and preservation projects within the Division. The role requires close coordination with District Engineers, County Maintenance Engineers, and the Divisionās Contract Officer to ensure successful project delivery. The position will support field units in the creation and maintaining of the Highway Maintenance Improvement Program (HMIP), Roadway Maintenance Improvement Program (RMIP), and other maintenance and operations programs. Duties include managing and tracking HMIP and RMIP to ensure established goals are met, as well as utilizing MMS, SAP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS to support program delivery. The employee will prepare and provide reports to Maintenance Operations Units to assist with planning efforts and will help develop various maintenance contracts to support field operations. This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision from engineering staff while maintaining positive, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The position also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. Work may include responding to emergency situations, and assignments may involve nights and weekends. The employee must be able to traverse steep and uneven terrain and will be exposed to high traffic volumes, extreme temperatures, and adverse weather conditions.

Additional Expectations: Must be able to promote a safe working environment. Proficiency in the use of office equipment such as personal computers, calculators, etc. Ability to read, interpret and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications and inspection procedures, and related documents/communications. Must have a thorough knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Associateās degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology or Survey Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
