The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
The Director of Professional Services is responsible for ensuring continuous active treatment and quality programmatic services for all residents at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. The primary purpose of this position is the direct professional and administrative supervision of the following departments: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Volunteer Services, Social Work, and the Olmstead Specialist. This position also directly supervises the Director of Resident Engagement, who oversees Chaplaincy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Vocational Enrichment, Creative Therapy, Recreational Therapy, and Education (Rosewood Resource Center, Dogwood Resource Center, and Redwood Resource Center). In addition, this position is a member of the Center's Executive Leadership Team, participates in the development and implementation of facility-wide initiatives, and ensures that treatment and training are being provided in a quality manner and are in compliance with ICF/MR regulations.
Salary Range: $70,478.00 – $123,336.00
