Design Engineer (CAD)

We are looking for a detail-driven CAD Engineer to bring creativity and precision. You'll transform concepts into technical drawings, CNC files, and 3D models that guide our internal teams and vendors through flawless production and setup.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling: Create accurate 3D models in SolidWorks that match client-approved renderings and cost sheets. Ensure models are clearly labeled and easy to reference.
• Technical Drafting: Develop technical drawings for manufacturing teams detailing build, setup, and packing instructions. Produce separate specs for graphics and fabrication departments. Generate CNC files for precise cutting instructions. Create vendor-ready drawings and comprehensive Bills of Materials.
• Client Approval Drawings: Prepare semi-technical drawings with dimensions and material callouts for client sign-off before production.
• Setup Instructions: Develop clear, component-labeled instructions for show install crews. Sign off on final builds requiring engineering oversight.

Success Metrics: Approval rate from Project Managers, accuracy against cost sheets, reduction in avoidable reworks, accuracy of Bills of Materials, compliance with industry standards, minimal production questions and timeline delays, timely delivery of approval drawings, alignment with client expectations, correct hardware and assembly during setups, zero corrections during installation.

Requirements: SolidWorks proficiency, knowledge of construction principles, materials, and vendor processes, familiarity with rendering and cost sheets.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
