Performs a variety of activities associated with pipeline installation and maintenance including:
Performs above functions utilizing a variety of tools and equipment including machinery (backhoe, trencher, cranes, jackhammers) and hand tools (brushes, grinders, etc.) and shovels, rakes, jack hammer, squeeze tool, heating iron.
High School/GED degree
Three (3) or more years of experience involving excavations operating backhoes and excavators. Must demonstrate abilities for employment. Advanced knowledge and use of construction tools and or construction equipment.
Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hand tools, effective interpersonal skills, safety awareness.
Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Flexible work schedule; lifting up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, standing, digging, climbing. Works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation. Manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination). Keen eyesight. Good hearing. Good sense of smell. Comes in frequent contact with insects and animals. Ability to use SCBA when responding to gas leaks.
This position contains a weight restriction of 275 pounds as an essential function of the job. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure that all weight-rated equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner within maximum allowed weight loading. Weekend and evening work as required. Subject to extended working hours and must be available for call-out and emergency response. Some rotating shifts. Commercial driver's license (CDL) required. Prior related experience or completion of an accredited training program.
