We are seeking a motivated intern to join our Test Equipment Services team.

This position will support the calibration and maintenance of test and measurement equipment used in aerospace production and engineering environments. The role is designed for a student interested in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or metrology technology. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced Calibration & Metrology Technicians to learn industry practices, assist with calibration activities, and support workflow documentation.

What you will do:

  • Assist with calibrations on electrical and mechanical equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, and micrometers under supervision.
  • Support troubleshooting and basic repair activities by preparing tools, reviewing documentation, and shadowing technicians.
  • Learn to use calibration management software for proper data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Help maintain lab organization/house-keeping, equipment inventory, and calibration records.
  • Participate in lab safety and quality control checks in accordance with internal policies and applicable standards.

What you will learn:

  • Fundamentals of calibration, metrology, and quality control processes in an aerospace environment.
  • Hands-on use of precision measurement tools and test equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and diagnostics for electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • Understanding of traceability requirements and industry standards (NIST, ISO, NADCAP).
  • Collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Coursework or lab experience in electronics or mechanical measurement.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
