Azure Data Engineer
Join Nordcloud and be part of the European cloud revolution. We supercharge our customers to innovate in hyperscaler cloud, enabling seamless migration, advanced security, and data-driven success.
Currently, we are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join our team in Poland. The future winning companies are the ones that are best at harnessing their data to become intelligent, data-driven businesses. Big data enables them to create innovative new applications and build AI solutions for tasks previously thought too difficult for computers.
Building systems for ingestion, transformation, and storage of vast amounts of data requires special expertise, which is why we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing Data-Driven Business team.
In this role, you will move beyond traditional ETL. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing modern, secure, cloud-native data platforms on Azure. You will build the underlying infrastructure that makes data accessible for a new wave of data-powered apps and GenAI services.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Professional experience: 8+ years in IT, with extensive hands-on experience building modern cloud data platforms and infrastructure
- Cloud expertise (Azure): Deep knowledge of the Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Lake Storage, KeyVault, Azure Monitor, Networking)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources
- Containerisation & Orchestration: Strong practical experience with Docker and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service). You know how to efficiently deploy and manage workloads in production
- CI/CD & DevSecOps: Mastery of Azure DevOps (pipelines, releases). You understand how to integrate security scanning, policies and compliance into the lifecycle (DevSecOps)
- Programming: proficiency in Python for scripting, automation and glue code
- Data Engineering Stack: Experience with modern data processing and orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric or Airflow)
- Testing: A mindset for quality—writing automated infrastructure tests and data quality checks.
What sets you apart (we'd consider any of these as a big plus):
- AI/ML Infrastructure: Experience setting up infrastructure for Azure ML, MLOps practices or deploying models on AKS
- GenAI & LLMs: Familiarity with Large Language Models (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI), Vector Databases or RAG architectures
- Certifications: Active Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate)
- Consultancy experience: Previous experience gained in mid-size/large international client-facing environments
- "Hold my beer – I got this" attitude
- Insight Geek that needs constant feeding
- Strong communication skills and fluent English.
We offer:
- Highly skilled co-workers in a friendly and supportive working culture; we enjoy working, having fun together and sharing our knowledge
- The most advanced technologies: We are the overly excited techies who can't wait to read about the newest launches!
- Benefits like health care, cafeteria system, life insurance, access to learning platforms, and concierge support
- Great self-development possibilities – we organise internal presentations and workshops. If you want, you also get to write blog texts and give presentations at meet-ups
- Ability to choose your working model from day one – fully remote, fully on-site, hybrid - your choice!
We encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet all of the requirements. We value your growth potential and enthusiasm!
All applicants must have the right to work in Poland.
