Applied R&D (AR) Position
Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented development and/or testing either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question. This is done by multi-discipline design, development, and/or implementation of hardware, software, testing of systems, including maintenance support. AR work is characterized by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development. Test engineering comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilizing knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). It contains processing of use case and feature requirements into operational scenarios and functional descriptions that can be tested.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and performing test activities of medium/high complexity features.
- Creating test specifications - basic/small scope/less complex.
- Supporting peers in completing tasks within own area(s) of expertise.
- Leading technical discussions with peers for resolving identified issues in own area(s) of expertise.
- Improving existing processes & solutions.
- Owning small/medium features from a test perspective.
Your Skills And Experience
Are you passionate about solving problems and understanding system behavior?
As part of our team, you will:
- Be part of a multi-disciplinary agile team of senior experts and supported by state-of-the-art development and test technologies, tools and processes.
- Interface with various other teams (product management, software, hardware and ASIC/FPGA) to make sure we deliver high quality products to our customers.
- Define the test strategy and test plan for new features.
- Design and automate test cases to validate the embedded software which is at the heart of the product.
You have:
- A master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Industrial science or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge in software development (Python).
- Take pride in the quality of your test cases and architecture.
- Interest in IP networks and Telecommunications networks in general.
- Willingness to contribute with creative, out-of-the-box solutions, to problems arising in a dynamic environment, under high market pressure.
- A hands-on mindset.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Basic knowledge on fiber technologies like GPON, XGSPON. 25G and 50G.
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins, Robot Framework or similar test framework.
- Experience with Xray test management (Jira).
