We are currently looking for an Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team in Smyrna, TN.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist in time studies, work measurement, and line balancing to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support layout planning and workstation design to enhance ergonomics and workflow.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Maintenance to implement lean manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and update process documentation.
  • Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, and simulation software to model and evaluate process changes.
  • Conduct a project to research AI automation options for business processes within the IE department.
  • Present findings and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership.

Who We're Looking for:

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and time study techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-starter with a passion for manufacturing and process optimization.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
  • Ability to perform work onsite at Smyrna, TN.
