Senior OpenText ECM/AppWorks Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled OpenText ECM/AppWorks Engineer to support enterprise content management and business process management solutions within a secure federal IT environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in OpenText ECM/AppWorks platforms, along with hands-on experience managing, administering, deploying, and supporting solutions in AWS GovCloud IaaS environments. This role requires strong technical acumen, compliance awareness, and the ability to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable content management services.

As an OpenText ECM AppWorks Engineer, you will be responsible for the management, administration, deployment, and support of OpenText ECM/AppWorks platforms in AWS GovCloud IaaS environments. You will work closely with solution architects, business analysts, and federal stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant enterprise content management solutions that improve operational efficiency and healthcare delivery.

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in:

  • Planning, installing, configuring, securing, upgrading, and patching OpenText ECM/AppWorks in AWS GovCloud IaaS environments
  • Designing and delivering solutions that integrate OpenText with multiple applications and information systems via RESTful APIs, SOAP, and bulk connectors
  • Ensuring high availability and disaster recovery through AWS replication technologies
  • Maintaining security controls consistent with DoD and federal cybersecurity standards

This role requires deep technical expertise in OpenText platform administration, AWS GovCloud infrastructure, and integration technologies, combined with the ability to work in a highly regulated federal environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering, installing, upgrading, and patching OpenText ECM/AppWorks platforms (Content Server, AppWorks, OTDS, Brava)
  • Experience managing OpenText ECM in AWS GovCloud IaaS (or other cloud-hosted) environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and scaling workloads.
  • Experience implementing integrations with other applications using SOAP, REST, and bulk APIs.
  • Understanding of the OpenText Database Schema and able to write Web Reports, Live Reports based on business needs.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD and federal record management policies, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of log analysis and root cause analysis techniques using monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk)
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting OpenText ECM/AppWorks platforms

Typical Duties/Abilities:

  • Collaborate with architects and analysts to translate business requirements into secure, scalable OpenText ECM solutions.
  • Plan, install, upgrade, and patch OpenText ECM/AppWorks components in AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of OpenText ECM/AppWorks and integrated systems.
  • Configure ECM platforms to ensure compliance with DoD and Agency record management policies.
  • Implement and maintain robust security models to protect sensitive data.
  • Provide support to system owners and users, addressing requests and troubleshooting issues.

Soft Skills:

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a track record of solution ownership.
  • Ability to articulate and document design/configuration choices and build consensus among stakeholders.

Education/Certifications:

  • BS degree in Information Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Security+ Certification (desired).
  • OpenText ECM/AppWorks Certification (desired).
