Leads research, design, and development activities to improve NYPA's energy services. Designs, constructs, and tests and operates equipment. Ensures that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met throughout all engineering activities. Applies engineering knowledge and technology, industry standards and practices to solve project, operational, or regulatory objectives. This includes wide knowledge of utility industry related engineering, operational procedures, practices, skills. Typically, this does not include practice of design drawings, specifications, calculations.
The Assistant Operations Engineer at St. Lawrence will assist the Northern NY Regions River Board OAG with Dam Management and Water Resources. This will include interface within NYPA and external agencies to support NERC and FERC reporting requirements. The Assistant Operations Engineer with be involved with the coordination of the DAM EAP program within the Operations Department, involvement with emergency response planning and after action reviews for Business Continuity.
