Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method. We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. As a residential (drive-in/drive-out) mine, Cadia values community deeply, offering both financial and in-kind support to organizations across Blayney, Cabonne, and Orange townships. We have an opportunity for an experienced and driven Senior Reliability Engineer to lead our reliability engineering team in driving safe production, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across our fixed plant operations at Cadia.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring plant equipment availability, performance, and safety through structured performance monitoring, defect elimination, and engineering solutions with a particular focus on Asset Integrity. You will also lead and develop a high-performing reliability team, empowering them with the skills and knowledge to achieve outstanding results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the Asset Integrity function within the Cadia Reliability Team
  • Lead the reliability engineering team to identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain Asset Integrity assurance processes, plant performance systems, condition risk databases, and loss elimination records.
  • Oversee structured budget development and delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with site and industry engineering standards.
  • Monitor industry developments and recommend refinements to improve asset reliability.
  • Manage contractors and consultants to achieve safe, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Develop and implement career and technical development plans for your team.

The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and grow teams. They will be skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement.

You will also possess the following:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong background in fixed plant maintenance and reliability practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Please note this is a 5/2 or 5/2 4-3 residential role in Orange NSW.
