Your Impact

Oversee process plant operations to maximize recovery rates and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

As Part Of Our Team You Will

  • Manage and lead daily process operations.
  • Design and deliver operational plans for the mine.
  • Identify and diagnose operational, technical, and safety challenges, and implement actions to address them.
  • Identify and present continuous improvement plans.
  • Lead mine operations teams and manage mining personnel.
  • Lead teams of operators, technicians, and supervisors to achieve production goals.
  • Investigate production data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement new standard technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Present operational performance data and key metrics to senior management.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations, maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Identify relevant risks, implement mitigation measures, and continuously investigate risks.

Prerequisites For Your Success In This Role

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Formal education in Metallurgy, Mining, Mineral Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in management positions within gold, copper, or polymetallic operations, ideally exceeding 80,000 tons per day capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience with operational planning, safety management, and production data analysis.
  • Advanced competence in the practical application of operational planning, team leadership, and risk management to support organizational activities.
  • Familiarity with risk analysis, performance reporting, and contractor management.
  • Proficiency in performing specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business results.
  • Advanced English (required); Spanish preferred.

Soft Skills and Leadership

  • Team Leadership and Development: The ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Communication: Clear presentation of operational performance and key metrics to senior management.
  • Risk Management: A clear understanding of identifying and investigating relevant risks and implementing effective mitigation measures.

Your Work Environment

The position is located at the Peñasquito Mine in Mazapil, Zacatecas, Mexico. The mine operates in a remote, semi-desert environment.

Accommodation: Provided in a comfortable camp setting adjacent to the workplace.

Roster: You will work a rotational schedule of 4 days on-site / 3 days off, alternating with 5 days on-site / 2 days off.

Mobility: This is a permanent, Mexico-based position. Relocation to Mexico is required for this role (expatriate terms offered). Domestic and international travel will be required periodically.
