Your Impact

As the Lead, Payroll Services, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of accurate and compliant payroll for a global workforce. Your leadership ensures timely payments, adherence to regulatory standards, and continuous process improvements that elevate payroll service delivery across Newmont's operations.

As Part Of Our Team, You Will

  • Lead all payroll production activities, ensuring accuracy in employee pay data and month-end remittances for both permanent and casual staff.
  • Review, assess, and authorize weekly and monthly payroll reports before posting to ledgers.
  • Manage urgent and exception payments, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Monitor service delivery performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific and U.S. payroll legislation, internal controls, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Evaluate payroll risks, tax obligations, and governance requirements, addressing or escalating as appropriate.
  • Oversee the transition of payroll from outsourced providers to internal teams.
  • Facilitate internal and external payroll audits.
  • Coach and develop team members through training and professional development.
  • Partner with Process Excellence teams to enhance user experience and optimize payroll systems.

Prerequisites For Your Success In This Role

  • Degree in IT, Human Resources, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP HCM/Payroll modules and SuccessFactors Compensation.
  • Payroll governance and compliance management.
  • Managing payroll delivery in a Global Shared Services environment.
  • Performance data analysis and gap resolution.
  • Competent proficiency in creating and delivering process and standards training.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, regulatory compliance, collective bargaining arrangements, and time/attendance systems.

Your Work Environment

  • You will be part of Newmont's Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Costa Rica, working within the Finance function. The role is people-focused and involves cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders across People, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams.
  • While the position is intended to be hybrid, as we establish our foundation, we will begin on-site to foster strong relationships, align our strategies, and ensure a solid framework for long-term success.
  • Compensation will be aligned with the local Costa Rican market and paid in Costa Rican colones (CRC).
