Supervisory Physician Administration

This position is located with the Division of Clinical Services at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, NM. This position serves as the Supervisory Physician (Administration)-Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Medical Services, with full responsibility for Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health Services, Walk-In Primary Care Clinic (WIPCC), Diabetes, and Social Services for the facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Exercises overall supervisory responsibility for the management and direction of the clinical services provided at GIMC, including the departments of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Walk-In Primary Care (WIPCC), Diabetes, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, and Social Work.
  • Responsible for overall quality and performance improvement activities in outpatient clinics and inpatient medical units.
  • Responsible for the diagnosis, care and treatment of inpatients, ambulatory care patients, and emergency cases in the capacity of a staff physician.

Requirements include:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
  • The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Qualifications include:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Graduate Training: At least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.
  • Competencies include accountability, customer service, decisiveness, flexibility, integrity/honesty, interpersonal skills, oral communication, problem solving, resilience, and written communication.

Education:

This position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades at the time of application.
