RSI is currently recruiting for Project Engineer IV. This position is located at the Los Alamos National Lab. It involves supervising the engineering activities (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. It also includes planning and directing engineering assignments on the project, providing engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.
Responsibilities include: supervising the work of others, performing all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline, performing conventional design and analysis, providing construction and project support, applying broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses, leading projects, working independently and as part of a team, utilizing engineering technology to accomplish work, making recommendations and advising on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts, performing risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques, providing system integration within and across disciplines, continuously improving work processes to meet customer needs, and preparing calculations, drawings, data sheets, specifications, reports, reviews, studies and estimates. Typical drawings may include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, feeder/circuit sizing, and conduit/cable schedules. The Engineer may conduct drawing searches in engineering records and will perform field investigation and walkdown work as required.
This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job. DoD and DoE experience is preferred. Work may be required outside normal business hours and sometimes on short notice. NQA1, glovebox systems, electrical and manufacturing experience are a plus.
B.S Degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university and 9 years of applicable progressive experience, degree may be substituted for experience.
