The Mechanical Team in AOT-MDE is seeking a motivated Engineered Systems Tec 3 welder to support LANSCE accelerator maintenance and upgrade operations. The successful candidate will need to provide demonstrated experience in welding to support accelerator operations and a variety of projects as well as support these maintenance and upgrade operations in the field as needed. Accelerator Operations and Technology - Mechanical Design Engineering (AOT-MDE) is primarily focused on maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) Accelerator. MDE provides engineering and design support to Mechanical Engineering projects both within Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and external customers. This position involves supporting LANSCE 24-hour, 7-day per week beam operations, which will involve work at odd hours (when required) and on-call duties. Must be willing to work overtime occasionally and serve on call to support 24/7 accelerator operation and maintenance.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
