Engineering Technician Vi - Electrician

GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an Engineering Technician VI with Electrician experience to join our team in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance: Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: Diagnosing electrical problems, testing circuits, and repairing or replacing faulty components using tools like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and wire strippers.
  • Blueprints and technical diagrams: Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to plan installations and ensure compliance with codes.
  • Safety compliance: Following the National Electrical Code, local building regulations, and safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure system reliability.
  • Specialized tasks: Working on generators, transformers, motor control circuits, and renewable energy systems; performing infrared inspections or thermographic analysis in industrial settings.
  • Client communication: Coordinating with clients to establish job requirements, provide cost estimates, and explain repairs or installations.
  • Perform mechanical/electrical repair and troubleshooting.
  • Provide equipment maintenance (routine, preventive, corrective) and repairs and support facilities testing and upkeep.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed electrician in New Mexico or Texas.
  • Performs installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations. Associates level degree or an equivalent education/work experience combination in the field of science, engineering or mathematics. For equivalency purposes, two years of experience is considered one year of formal education/training, and/or ten (10) years of service with an appropriate military Naval Enlisted Code, Military Occupational Specialty, preferred grade at departure is desired to be no less than E6.
  • Five (5) years professional experience in electrical/electronic systems.
  • US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of Secret Security Clearance; candidates currently possessing an active Secret clearance are preferred.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing equipment maintenance, repair and certification for weight handling (WHE), material handling (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE). General knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics principles to fully maintain and repair various carts utilized. Maintenance and/or repair are categorized by reoccurring on a periodic basis (e.g., cranes, slings, lift beam, and handling equipment) and on a case-by-case basis (e.g., carts and cradles) for mission specific requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan and accomplish complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity.
  • Knowledge in running equipment forklift, manlift, scissor lift. Safety in said equipment.
  • Have pulled/backed a trailer.
  • Knowledge in hand tools and safety use of hand tools.
  • Knowledge in metal working.

This position is located in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Compensation: $39.09 / hour + HW of $5.09
