We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Technician to join our team. As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will support engineering projects and ensure the efficient operation of our technical systems. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various equipment and systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of projects. You will be relied upon to complete testing and setup of new product design initiatives. This position is critical to the successful completion and launch of new product initiatives by supporting and contributing to design and testing activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues related to equipment and systems.
- Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and implement technical solutions and improvements.
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment and systems.
- Keep accurate records of testing and product performance data.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on technical procedures, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with advancements in technology and industry standards to continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support for various projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards in all engineering activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work 100% onsite.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and concepts.
- Proficient in using a variety of tools, equipment, and software used in engineering and technical tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy of test setup and data collection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate technical data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work setting.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Proficient in record-keeping and documentation practices to maintain accurate records of testing completed.
- CAD experience.
- An associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Technician or in a similar role.
- Certification in a relevant engineering discipline is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to engineering and equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks as required.
- Experience with operating lathes and mills to fabricate precision parts preferred.
- Ability to read Technical DWGs.
- Word/Excel skills.
- Ability to setup Electrical test equipment.
- Familiar with plasma cutting process and controls preferred.
