The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Water Division, Winnipesaukee River Basin Bureau has a full time vacancy for a Plant Maintenance Engineer. Performs responsible technical and supervisory work in implementing a maintenance program for the treatment plant, pump stations, mobile and construction equipment and collection system to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the wastewater treatment facilities operated under the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program.
Minimum qualifications include an equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in the field of engineering, maintenance and repair or construction of buildings, facilities, or related equipment, including one year in a supervisory capacity. A valid driver's license is required.
Other requirements include the ability to lift and carry material weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, willingness and ability to respond to callbacks and participate in rotating, on-call duty, willingness to carry a cell phone to receive notification of callbacks, and ability to work a schedule which includes weekend and holiday rotation.
After hire, the candidate must obtain a NH Wastewater Operator 1-OIT minimum certification by passing the Grade 1 written examination within one year of employment.
