Schwab Personal Trust Services Manager (PL), Trust Account Support

Schwab's Personal Trust Services (PTS) organization provides personal trust products and services to Schwab's clients, including individual investors, beneficiaries, RIAs, and corporate fiduciaries. PTS products cover the full fiduciary, agency, and custody spectrum, including fiduciary trust administration and investment management, directed trustee, trusteed IRA, administrative agency, trust reporting, and trust outsourcing.

The Manager (PL), Trust Account Support is a leadership role responsible for management and oversight of an operations team within Personal Trust Services. The team is responsible for supporting clients and RIAs with opening and funding new accounts, ongoing maintenance of existing accounts, and many oversight functions to ensure each account can be administered appropriately. The Manager (PL), Trust Account Support is responsible for overseeing processes and key risk items to confirm team members perform daily functions as defined in procedures. They are also responsible for reviewing and rewriting those procedures, identifying and implementing process efficiencies, and managing risk. Schwab follows the three lines of defense model of risk governance. The Manager (PL), Trust Account Support is a first line of defense position for CSTC and CSTCD and assures compliance with all trust company policies and procedures, Schwab's enterprise risk management program, as well as all applicable state and federal banking and trust regulations in the context of their responsibilities.

  • Leading, developing, and mentoring team members to ensure accuracy, timeliness, quality, and compliance to all policies and procedures
  • Supporting various trust services offered by Charles Schwab Trust Company and Charles Schwab Trust Company of Delaware
  • Partnering with leadership and internal business partners to ensure our products and service are meeting their expectations
  • Managing and/or participating in special projects and initiatives in the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community
  • Driving the strategic vision for PTS by proactively identifying opportunities to improve process flow and eliminate redundancies
  • Providing oversight and required evidence of supervision for key processes
  • Assisting with managing internal and external audits
  • Ensuring team members comply with state and federal banking regulations and internal policies and procedures regarding asset eligibility, OFAC, AML, and Customer Identification Program
  • Highly client oriented with demonstrated experience in client servicing and relationship management
  • Prioritizing, managing, and processing complex requests to ensure items are completed within established time frames
  • Providing superior follow-up, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data input
  • Anticipating potential risk issues and escalating as needed

What you have:

  • Proven leadership experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in trust, banking, or financial industry, including customer service experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • CTFA preferred
  • Understanding of personal trust products and trust administration concepts desired
  • Highly client-oriented with demonstrated experience in client management
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research problems, determine root causes and solutions
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Thrives on initiating, building and encouraging strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; highly reciprocal; navigates and activates alignment across organizational silos
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a matrix organization structure and synthesize diverse points of view into well-formulated recommendations and plans
  • Positive attitude, team orientation, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
