Schedule: Full-time; Temporary - One-year (35 hrs/wk, 182 days, ends June 2026); Must be willing and able to work a variable job schedule.

Location: Reno, NV 89509; Anderson Elementary School

Salary: Sch A: $21.44 (entry step), Sch B: $25.78 (entry step); Salaries are subject to adjustment and may increase and decrease each fiscal year. New employees hired by Washoe County School District are normally placed on the entry step of the grade of the position. This is an one-year position ending June 2026. This position is grant-funded and contingent upon continued funding. If funding continues, the hiring administrator may retain incumbent for the duration of the grant without re-advertising.

Summary: Under general direction, plans, coordinates, and directs all functions of the 21st Century Community Learning Center after-school programs, including recruiting teachers, program development, evaluating programs, data collections, payroll accounting in accordance with district guidelines and procedures, purchasing, marketing the program to general and target populations, developing and monitoring annual operating budgets, assisting families with classes and helping develop the skills necessary to work toward self-sufficiency, and maintaining ongoing community partnerships. Incumbent performs other related work as required.

Minimum/Preferred Requirements: Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience in teaching would provide the required knowledge and skills are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: 1. Equivalent to a two year degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on education, business administration, management, or related field; AND 2. Three (3) years of full-time experience coordinating and conducting in-school or after-school programs; Knowledge of: Effective program management, budgeting and fund procurement, community organizations and businesses, parent involvement and family services, recreation, child development; educational experience that will improve school readiness for all young children. Skill at: Managing and administering programs, organization, evaluating staff and programs, communicating effectively with schools and agencies, working with diverse cultures, participating in and effectively conducting meetings; problem solving; maintaining accurate records, organizing events and materials; making arrangements for special classes and workshops; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. License/Certificates: Valid CPR and First Aid certificate must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment. Special Considerations: Must be willing and able to work a variable job schedule. Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, residences, or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
