The purpose of the Sales Associate I is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This job description is a broad outline of responsibilities.
Must be able to handle cash, make change and operate register. Must be able to take instructions and carry them out without direct supervision. Knowledge of merchandise preferred. Previous retail experience a plus. Good rapport with customers. Strong ability to utilize high levels of time management and multitasking.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects. Ability to reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds non-continuously. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
