As a Data Center Manager in Amazon, you will manage the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. You will innovate to solve complex problems and drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role. You will be a proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers. You will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. You will drive performance levels to achieve the pace we build and operate our Data Centers at. You will have previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both) along with exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.
Key job responsibilities include managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance. You will maintain existing Data Centers, help build and bring online new Data Centers, and constantly improve all our processes and procedures. You will assist & manage relationships with external vendors & contractors, liaise with internal teams & management groups, ensure we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers, create and maintain metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes, and assist in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
About the team AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Basic qualifications include 4+ years of technical team management experience and 4+ years of experience in a data center technology role and/or 4 + years of knowledge with Networking or Computer hardware. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of data center experience, behavioral interviewing and hiring experience, experience in technical writing in a relevant field, experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment, and ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
