The Chief Engineer manages the Engineering maintenance staff to ensure that hotel facilities and systems operate properly. Accordingly, the Chief Engineer may be required to work in an office setting, as well as hands on in the field, scheduling workers on repair assignments, solving air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing or other system malfunctions. Aside from maintenance duties, they are also responsible for coordinating with contractors on renovations, remodels and new construction. To perform this position successfully, an individual must have a High School Diploma or GED and have two to five years\' experience in supervising a hotel engineering required. Experience in all facets of the hotel engineering field, to include but not limited to, HVAC, Kitchen Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Life Safety Systems, Elevators, and Electronics. Must have valid driver\'s license and an excellent driving record without any restrictions, must present 60 month DMV printout with submission of application.
