Senior Staff Engineer

We're seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to drive the technical strategy and architectural evolution of Netwrix Directory Manager (NDM) - a cornerstone of our identity governance and administration (IGA) portfolio.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will serve as the principal technical authority for NDM, ensuring its modernization aligns with Netwrix's broader cloud transformation and product vision. You will partner closely with the Director and Engineering Manager as a peer in defining technical direction, setting architectural standards, and influencing how NDM integrates across the company's identity and security ecosystem. This role combines strategic influence with hands-on technical depth. You'll provide technical leadership across teams, guide design reviews, validate critical decisions, and mentor other senior engineers to elevate overall engineering excellence. This is a hybrid role with 3 days weekly in our Kraków office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director and Engineering Manager as a peer to define NDM's long-term technical strategy and architectural roadmap.
  • Lead architectural design for NDM modernization, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with Netwrix's Azure-based SaaS platform strategy.
  • Drive architectural alignment across products, influencing shared patterns, integration models, and cross-identity data flows.
  • Represent NDM engineering in architecture councils, platform discussions, and leadership reviews.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption to improve resilience, performance, and developer productivity.
  • Provide deep technical guidance and mentorship to Staff and Senior Engineers, developing the next generation of technical leaders.
  • Collaborate closely with product management to ensure architecture and roadmap align with customer and business outcomes.
  • Stay hands-on as needed – leading design reviews, prototyping critical components, and troubleshooting high-impact issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale architecture or modernization efforts for complex, enterprise-grade systems.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and modern software design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services and SaaS architectural principles, including multi-tenancy and scalability.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business and product strategy into actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams or products.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to mentor and elevate other senior and staff engineers.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing or leading identity, access management, or IGA solutions.
  • Background in security, compliance, or regulated software environments.
  • Expertise in microservices, event-driven, or message-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with observability, reliability engineering, and large-scale data management.
  • Participation in company-wide or open technical forums as a thought leader or architecture representative.
  • Experience shaping architectural standards or technical strategy across multiple products.
  • Exposure to hybrid identity environments bridging on-prem and cloud.
  • Proven ability to balance innovation with pragmatic delivery in enterprise settings.
  • Interest in leveraging AI or automation to improve developer velocity and product resilience.
